Poem for Monday [Jan. 12th, 2004|10:22 am]
The Escape )

Got my People's Choice article finished, realized it's Kristine's week to write CSI Files site columns, which means...I have time to watch something while folding laundry. Shall I finish the director's cut of Amadeus with all those gorgeous scenes Milos Forman restored? Or, having gotten myself in a Louise Fletcher mood with Virtuosity, should I put in the feature disc from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and see how many interview clips there are with her and Jack? Or should I be honest with myself and admit that I just want to watch L.A. Confidential again?

Today's Zits, passed on by my spouse. Hee! Oh, and I forgot to mention my one laugh-aloud moment during the awards last night: when Ray got up there with his kids who would not turn off their Game Boys and then pretended he had to help them connect them for multi-player mode. Been there, done that, not onstage but close.

Starring the Terps as the Riders of Rohan [Jan. 12th, 2004|04:20 pm]
The Washington Post sports writers have had a nervous breakdown!

Calling it 'The Return of the King' hardly overstates Joe Gibbs's amazing reappearance in the burgundy and gold. Although when Tolkien's king returned, there was a powerful wizard on hand. Hear that, Gilbert Arenas?! We didn't see Gandalf limp away from the gates of Mordor with a "strained abdomen." Anyway, if Gibbs is Aragorn, then let's see what parts we can find for these other newsmakers. )
